Prayer Partners, thanks for joining with us. Rich, Marla, and I definitely feel a bit overwhelmed with all the details of preparing to enter such a new culture. Currently we are finalizing our talks and all the notes used in the seminars. We will be sending those to the Burns this week and they will have them printed in Malawi.
Just today, I sent an e-mail to Chet Burns asking him to translate "Walk Thru the Old Testament" into Chichewa. It is "KUYENDA M'CIPANGANO CAKALE."
Thats a bit tough for me right now. I think I'll settle for learning words like God (Mulungu) or hello (moni).
Please pray for me this week in my studies. I will be preaching in churches on three Sundays. I've been led to preach from the life of Josiah who was the young king of Judah who rediscovered the Law after it had been hidden for years (2 Kings 22&23). There was much reform that was brought to the land under this good king. I hope to rekindle the churches in Malawi to rediscover the gigantic lessons of faith in the Old Testament. And in fact, all of the Old Testament is a tutor leading us intimately to Christ. I believe that these messages from Josiah's life will dovetail with the training I will give church leaders in Walk Thru the Bible.
